Having recently moved to the Peninsula from the city, we were nervous about changing childcare and visited a few different centres but as soon as we met the Little Grasshoppers team and saw the facilities we loved it! Wonderful team of educators and staff and such a great environment for the kids. Recommend highly!

Purpose built in 2014, our Eramosa Road centre is our largest, offering 90 places for children from 6 weeks to 5 years of age.
This generous space provides for bubs, toddlers and 3 & 4 year old Kinder rooms with plenty of breakout areas for multidisciplinary activities. In line with all Grasshoppers facilities our children enjoy their meals in a Separate Dining room and can relax with an educator for a quiet book in the adjoining library facilities.
Our main backyard, dotted with mature trees (including fruiting lemon for lemonade making!) will undergo a complete refurb in late 2023. Currently boasting a raised shade sailed area for outdoor crafts and meals alongside a fort and sandpit. It will soon offer the latest in early childhood climbing equipment, new surfaces, a sustainability pod and sandplay area.
For our Little Learners and Junior Big Inventors (2 – 3 year olds) our side play area offers a delightful tree lined esplanade with sustainability activities, outdoor play kitchen, obstacle course and a vintage red boat for imaginative play.
Our full-time, onsite cook provides 4 nutritious meals daily and seasonal age-appropriate ‘cooking’ activities are a highlight.
Our Funded Kindergarten program led by Qualified teachers, follows all areas of the Early Years Learning Framework and includes visual and performing arts, sustainability practices and cultural appreciation. Our Kinder children also enjoy a Community Engagement Program, visiting Somerville Retirement Village for a variety of structured and child-led intergenerational experiences.

My son has food allergies and they have always been on-top of this and have great management plans in place. I feel my child is truly loved and looked after by all the educators which I am so grateful for!!
The manager Georgie is always quick to respond whenever I need to ask anything, nothing is too much trouble ❤️

We moved to this centre from another service when our son was 2.5, and we approached restarting daycare with so much caution because he has severe food allergies resulting in life-threatening anaphylaxis.
From day one, nothing has ever been too much trouble. The moment we met the centre manager, Georgie, we knew we were going to be okay and everything since then has been more than okay.
Our son, now almost six and about to start school, has been so safe, so supported, and so well cared for. We are genuinely sad to be leaving. The educators are amazing, and staff turnover is incredibly low, which speaks volumes about the culture and care at Little Grasshoppers Eramosa.
Their approach to the management of allergies and asthma is nothing short of exceptional. Georgie has been our guardian angel - always open, communicative, reassuring, and unwavering in keeping his safety as her highest priority.
I would sing the praises of Little Grasshoppers Eramosa from the rooftops. We will miss everyone dearly and will definitely be popping in to say hello on our walks.
Thank you for getting our boy safely through daycare and kinder, and for helping him head off to school with confidence. We are forever grateful. We would recommend this centre (and Georgie!) to anyone. Particularly, if you are a parent of a child with complex allergies, this is a great option for the safest, supportive care!
