FOR ALL THE TRIBE

What age can my child attend from?

We welcome children from 8 weeks to 5 years of age. The starting age is to ensure all scheduled vaccinations have been effected. On occasion we may be able to invite an earlier start based on circumstance.

Do I have to provide food and nappies?

We have onsite Cooks at each centre who provide 4 nutritious meals per day – breakfast, a hot lunch and morning and afternoon tea of baked goods and fruit/vegetables. We do not provide nappies as we find
that in many cases a family has individual needs born of preference and often allergies/irritants.

What hours are you open?

The advantage of owning 5 centres across the Peninsula is the opportunity to meet the opening hour needs of all our families. Our Moorooduc and Mount Eliza centres open from 6.30am with a staggered opening across 7am and 7.30am available at our other locations. Our latest closing time is 6.30pm. Please discuss your individual drop off and pick up needs with our enrolment team.

What rebate will I get from the government?

Please visit the ServicesAustralia.gov.au website to read full information on the Child Care Subsidy, however you can also visit our website for a CCS estimate calculator which can approximate your daily out-of-pocket expenses based on the financial and work/activity information you input.

Can I enrol for just 1 day?

Yes from 1 to 5 days, the choice is entirely yours (subject of course to availability). Some families find that a Monday works well after the mayhem of a weekend, allowing them time to re-set for the week and for their child to spend some time out of the confines of home. Others request the days that tie-in with their work or study commitments.

FOR OUR KINDER FAMILIES

When does the Kinder program run?

Our long day care centres offer a comprehensive Kinder program led by Bachelor qualified teachers, catering to three and four-year-old children throughout the week. Operating year-round, our Kinder program ensures consistency and support across all 52 weeks.

What happens if I choose to attend Kindergarten at a different location?

Children are eligible for Free Kinder funding at only one kindergarten program. If your child is enrolled at multiple kindergartens or childcare centres, please specify which program will receive the funding.

How frequently does my child need to attend to qualify for Kinder funding?

For three-year-olds, attendance can range from 5 to 15 hours per week. However, for four-year-old Kinder, a minimum attendance of 15 hours per week is required, typically equivalent to two days of care at Little Grasshoppers.

How is free funding calculated?

The total funding amount of $2,050 is divided by the number of operational weeks in a year (52 weeks), resulting in a weekly allocation (e.g., $2050 ÷ 52 = $39.42 per week). To receive the full $2,050, a child must attend for the full 15 hours per week with their Kinder teacher.

How do I receive my Kinder funding?

At Little Grasshoppers, we ensure a seamless process by crediting eligible families directly into their invoices every week. This ensures that the credited amount accurately corresponds to the child’s eligibility. Funding will commence on Monday, January 29, 2024.
