The Little Grasshoppers Group are the Mornington Peninsula’s premier childcare operators. We welcome children from all over the Mornington Peninsula, particularly in our surrounding areas Mount Martha, Mornington, Mount Eliza, Somerville, Baxter and South Frankston. Little Grasshoppers Early Learning Centres are one of the Mornington Peninsula’s most experienced Childcare and Kindergarten operators, with over 32 years’ experience. We have a large number of families from the Moorooduc area that use our facilities, and welcome more households from the Moorooduc area and surrounds to make use of our premier Early Learning service.
Moorooduc Coolstores Childcare Centre and Facilities
Our Childcare Centre at The Coolstores, Moorooduc is a purpose built facility with room for 65 child placements per day for childcare on the Mornington Peninsula. We offer several, differing and age centric playgrounds featuring vegetable gardens, recreation areas and a favourite of the children – triple slides under a weeping willow. We have a full-time cook to serve nutritious meals in our wonderful Moorooduc Coolstores location.
The industry leading childcare centre we have in Moorooduc Coolstores is a relatively new facility that offers great convenience with an accessible location on Moorooduc Highway. The childcare centre and fully funded Kindergarten offers a wonderful environment for families to utilise childcare. With separate music & movement room, library and interactive activity pods not to mention our fabulous light filled dining room where our Kinder children can enjoy cooking classes, your child is sure to thrive in their early learning years!

Little Grasshoppers Early Learning Centres are not only in Moorooduc. We also have two centres in Mornington – Main St. and Parwan Cres., one at Eramosa Rd in Somerville and our brand new state-of-the-art Mt Eliza centre opening late 2023. Mornington Peninsula Childcare History – Little Grasshoppers Early Learning Centre
Little Grasshoppers Early Learning Centres have significant experience and history on the Mornington Peninsula, having been around some 32 years. Owner Kaye Ellis started the business looking to engender warmth and communication between staff, families and children, and at Little Grasshoppers we believe we have achieved that vision thanks to our time in the business.
The business is now helmed by Kaye’s two sons Trent and Matt, and with many staff having had their own children attend, and in fact some of our first attending children growing to become early childhood educators with the LGH Group, our family touch and continuity of service is assured!
Philosophy
Little Grasshoppers Early Learning Centre has a philosophy based around providing an environment conducive to assisting children in their future learning. A play based curriculum gives children the opportunity to learn new skills and become familiar with their environment. We do our best to bring as many opportunities, interactivity and child-led learning moments into our childcare framework and genuinely believe that your child will enjoy and thrive at Little Grasshoppers.
